Apex Instruments Service notice SN-2026-114Issued September 8, 2026
Supersedes SN-2025-081

Field service notice / action required

Meridian Pro moves to a twelve month calibration interval.

Meridian Pro units built after March 2026 carry a revised reference cell. Bench testing shows drift inside tolerance for twelve months, so the interval doubles. Units built before that date keep the six month interval.

What changed

Calibration interval for Meridian Pro serials M7-2026-0400 and above: six months becomes twelve.

Who it affects

Any site running a Meridian Pro built after March 2026. Meridian Bench and Field Kit are unaffected.

What to do

Read the serial from the rear plate, then reset the interval in the service menu and log the change.

By when

Before the next scheduled calibration, or by December 31, 2026, whichever comes first.

Background

What changed and why

The reference cell in Meridian Pro was revised in March 2026. The replacement part holds its zero point far longer than the part it replaced, which is what set the original six month interval. Forty units from two production lots were held on the bench for fourteen months, with drift measured every thirty days. Every unit stayed inside the published tolerance band.

On that evidence the interval for the affected serial range moves to twelve months. Nothing else changes: the tolerance band, the procedure, the fee, and the certificate format are unchanged. Sites that prefer the shorter interval may keep it.

Sites on Atlas Care Plus need to do nothing

If your site holds an Atlas Care Plus plan, the interval is held centrally and the change is already applied. Sites on Atlas Care, or on no plan, should follow the steps on page 2.

Procedure

What to do at your site

  1. Read the serial. The rear plate carries the serial above the power inlet. Only serials M7-2026-0400 and above are in scope.
  2. Open the service menu. Hold the mode key for five seconds, then select Service, then Calibration interval.
  3. Set the interval to twelve months. The unit will ask for confirmation and will print the new due date on the next report.
  4. Log the change. Record the serial, the date, and the initials of whoever made the change in your service log.
  5. Tell your account manager. Send the serial list to your account manager so the central schedule matches your site.

If you take no action

Nothing breaks. The unit keeps the six month interval and calibrations continue at the published rate, so a site that does nothing will be booked and billed for roughly twice the calibrations it now needs. The interval can be changed at any later date, and a technician can set it during any visit.
